Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: June 1st 2026

1. Purpose

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how payments, purchased credits, subscription credits, report unlocks, AI prompt usage, promotional credits, referral credits, courtesy credits, and subscription cancellations are handled in BLASTseq AI.

By purchasing credits, subscribing to a paid plan, unlocking report features, or using AI-powered features in BLASTseq AI, users agree to the terms described in this policy.

2. Purchased Credits

Credits purchased through BLASTseq AI are generally non-refundable once the purchase is completed, except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by BLASTseq AI support/admin review.

Purchased credits can be used for eligible paid features within the application, including report/tab unlocks and AI prompt usage where applicable.

Purchased credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, withdrawn, or redeemed for money. Purchased credits are handled separately from subscription credits.

3. Used Credits

Credits that have already been used are generally non-refundable.

This includes credits used for:

  • Report or tab unlocks
  • AI prompt submissions
  • Any other paid feature inside BLASTseq AI

Once credits are deducted for a valid action, the deduction is considered final, except in cases where BLASTseq AI determines that a technical issue caused an incorrect deduction.

4. Report and Tab Unlocks

Report or tab unlocks are final once completed.

When a user confirms an unlock and credits are deducted, the unlocked report/tab becomes available to that user according to the application's access rules.

Credits used for report or tab unlocks are generally non-refundable, including situations where the user later decides they no longer need the unlocked information.

Current paid unlock areas may include:

  • Inclusivity / Exclusivity report section
  • Variant Analysis report section

If a technical issue prevents access to an unlocked report/tab after credits have been deducted, the user may contact support for review.

5. AI Prompt Credit Deductions

AI prompt credit deductions are final once the prompt is submitted and accepted by the system.

Currently, AI prompts may deduct credits according to the active BLASTseq AI credit rules. For example, an AI prompt may deduct 1 credit when submitted.

Credits used for AI prompts are generally non-refundable, including cases where the AI response does not meet the user's expectations.

If a technical failure occurs and the AI request is not processed correctly, the user may contact support for review.

6. Subscription Plans

BLASTseq AI may offer paid subscription plans that include monthly credit allowances or other plan-based benefits.

Subscription fees are billed through the payment provider shown at checkout.

Subscription credits are provided according to the active plan and billing cycle. Subscription credits do not carry forward unless explicitly stated in the plan terms.

Purchased credits are handled separately from subscription credits.

7. Subscription Cancellation

Users may cancel their subscription through the billing portal or available account settings.

When a subscription is cancelled, access to the paid plan generally remains active until the end of the current billing period.

After the current billing period ends, the account may be downgraded to the Basic/free plan unless the user renews or purchases another subscription.

Cancellation does not automatically refund payments already made for the current billing period, except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by BLASTseq AI support/admin review.

8. Subscription Credit Expiry

Subscription-based credits are tied to the active subscription billing period.

Unused subscription credits may expire at the end of the billing period, cancellation period, downgrade, or subscription termination, depending on the plan rules.

Subscription credits do not carry forward unless explicitly stated in the plan terms.

Purchased credits are handled separately from subscription credits.

9. Promotional, Referral, Signup, and Courtesy Credits

Promotional credits, referral credits, signup bonus credits, and courtesy credits are not purchased credits.

These credits:

  • Have no cash value
  • Are non-refundable
  • Cannot be exchanged for money
  • Cannot be transferred to another user
  • May expire according to the applicable promotion, referral, or courtesy-credit rule

BLASTseq AI may modify, limit, or discontinue promotional or courtesy-credit programs at its discretion.

10. Failed Payments

If a payment fails, the related credit purchase, subscription activation, or subscription renewal may not be completed.

BLASTseq AI may restrict access to paid-plan benefits until payment is successfully completed.

For subscriptions, failed payments may result in retry attempts, notification to the user, or downgrade to the Basic/free plan according to the billing rules in effect at that time.

11. Duplicate or Accidental Purchases

Users are responsible for reviewing their purchase details before completing payment.

If a user believes a duplicate or accidental purchase occurred, they should contact support as soon as possible with the relevant payment details.

BLASTseq AI may review such requests on a case-by-case basis but is not obligated to provide a cash refund unless required by applicable law or expressly approved by BLASTseq AI support/admin review.

Where appropriate, support/admin may issue courtesy credits instead of a monetary refund.

12. Technical Issues

If a technical issue causes credits to be deducted without providing the expected application access or service, the user should contact support for review.

After review, BLASTseq AI may, at its discretion:

  • Restore access
  • Re-credit the affected credits
  • Provide courtesy credits
  • Take another reasonable corrective action

Technical reviews are handled case by case.

13. No Cash Redemption

Credits in BLASTseq AI are application-use credits only.

Credits cannot be:

  • Withdrawn
  • Sold
  • Transferred
  • Redeemed for cash
  • Refunded as money except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by BLASTseq AI support/admin review
14. Account Closure

If a user closes or deletes their account, unused credits may be lost and may not be refunded.

Before closing an account, users should review any unused purchased credits, subscription status, and unlocked reports.

15. Exceptions

Any exception to this policy is at the discretion of BLASTseq AI support/admin or company management, subject to applicable law.

Exceptions may be handled through courtesy credits, account adjustments, monetary refunds, or other corrective actions where appropriate.

Users should include relevant details such as:

  • Registered email address
  • Payment date
  • Transaction or invoice reference, if available
  • Report ID or RID, if applicable
  • Description of the issue
17. Policy Updates

BLASTseq AI may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time.

Any updates will be posted within the application or on the BLASTseq AI website. Continued use of BLASTseq AI after policy updates means the user accepts the revised policy.
